Trenton Makes Inc. has completed a number of renovations on the property at 439 S Broad Street over the course of the last two years. Keeping a historic property in shape takes work, but the rewards speak for themselves. This week, masonry workers from A. Pennacchi and Sons have been repointing the bricks on the rear and side of the building.
Paul Pennacchi said, “We aren’t going to have to redo this again in our lifetimes!” When you hire a multi-generational, family-owned small business, the current president can speak in terms of lifetimes—because other generations of his family have also worked on the building.

Thanks to Pennacchi for the masonry work, and thanks to the City of Trenton for supporting this project through their ARP program. We look forward to providing Mayor Gusciora with a tour upon completion. The true beneficiaries of this work are the dozens of small business owners and employees who work at the property and make a living here.
— Roland Pott, President, Trenton Makes® Inc.
You’ll notice that an advertisement for “Trenton Soda Crackers” is still visible on the side of the property. The brick was cleaned when Trenton Makes Inc. completed a major renovation between 1999–2001. During that cleaning, a layer of paint was removed, revealing the historic Trenton Soda Cracker advertisement.
