Urban Word Café

Urban Word Café opened in 1999 as an arts café, bistro-style restaurant, performance venue, and art gallery. It remained in operation through 2003. Urban Word Café brought together a lively scene of musicians, artists, poets, and community-minded individuals to South Broad Street and found innovative ways of creating an arts destination in downtown Trenton.

Trenton Makes, Inc. did the business plan, managed the start-up process, and performed all day-to-day management of the restaurant. Today, it is thriving as the Trenton Social bar and restaurant.
